A browser built for working with digital certificates

Fractax is a specialised browser. It has what you expect from any browser, like tabs, an address bar, bookmarks and zoom, and it also keeps each certificate in its own space, with its own session and tabs.

What changes compared with your usual browser

Browsers are made for one person with one certificate. Fractax is made for people who log into government websites with several.

With a regular browserWith Fractax
The browser remembers the first certificate you picked. To switch, you close everything or open a private window. Each certificate has its own space. You switch between them with one click.
The certificate list pops up again and again, and it's easy to pick the wrong one.Fractax only uses the certificate of the identity you are in.
Sessions from different people get mixed up in the same browser. Each certificate's sessions and tabs are kept apart.
To see if you have notifications, you log into DEHú with each certificate, one by one.A badge on each identity shows how many are pending.
A notification left unopened for 10 days counts as served, and you find out too late. Each notification shows how many days it has left, colour-coded.
You find out a certificate has expired when you can no longer log in.Fractax reminds you as far in advance as you choose.

Your certificates never leave your computer

Fractax has no servers where certificates are stored. There is no cloud to set up or to secure: the risk of uploading sensitive data to the internet goes away, because that step doesn't exist.

  • Everything Fractax stores is encrypted on your computer, in a vault protected by your master password.
  • If you import a certificate from the system store (Keychain on Mac, Windows certificate store), the private key is not copied: it stays where it was.
  • Government websites and DEHú are accessed from your own computer, just like when you log in yourself.
  • Documents from the notifications you open are saved only on your computer.

No extensions, no switching browsers

Fractax isn't installed inside Chrome or any other browser. It's a standalone app with its own engine.

Nothing to add to Chrome

No extensions to install, and none to give permission to read the pages you visit.

Your browser stays as it is

Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox stay untouched, with your usual accounts and tabs.

Chrome's engine

Fractax runs on Chromium, the same engine as Chrome and Edge, so government websites work as they expect.

Getting started

In a few minutes, with no sign-up and no credit card.

  1. Download Fractax

For Mac, Windows and Linux. It installs like any other app.

  2. Create your master password

It protects the encrypted vault where Fractax keeps everything on your computer.

  3. Add your certificates

From a .pfx or .p12 file, or from the ones already installed on your system.

  4. Work with all of them at once

Pick a certificate in the sidebar and go to the websites. Switch to another with one click.

Your notifications, without checking DEHú one by one

Fractax checks DEHú for you across all your certificates and shows what's pending and how many days each notification has left.

  • Notifications and communications for each certificate, in one tab.
  • Open them in Fractax, always after you confirm.
  • Document, attachments and receipt saved on your computer.

For automatic checks, each certificate is registered once as a Large Recipient (Gran Destinatario). It's free and Fractax guides you step by step.

What Fractax doesn't do yet

So you know what to expect before installing it.

  • You can't see a notification's content without opening it.
  • You can't reject notifications from Fractax.
  • Some bodies have their own mailbox and don't publish in DEHú. Their notifications don't appear in Fractax.
